Frequently Asked Questions:

We source products from a number of locations with the goal being to provide a large variety of high-quality hemp products in a wide range of prices. If you have a question about a specific product, please do not hesitate to contact us.

CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of more than 60 natural chemical compounds (or cannabinoids) found in the hemp plant. Unlike THC, the cannabinoid that makes a cannabis user feel "high," CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it doesn't cause a high.

CBD and THC are both chemical compounds found in the hemp plant. However, unlike THC (which is responsible for the well-known "high" associated with cannabis), CBD is non-psychoactive and won't make you feel high.

Yes!... As long as you meet age criteria set forth in state and federal regulations. There is no need to have a medical marijuana card or any other documentation, aside from a valid form of identification, to purchase products at either of our stores. Since our stores are located in two different states with different laws surrounding CBD products, we've broken the details down state-by-state:

In Tennessee:

  • Anyone 21 or older may purchase smokable CBD products and smoking paraphernalia.
  • Anyone 18 or older may purchase non-smokable products such as gummies, oils, and salves.

In Georgia:

  • Anyone 18 or older may purchase non-smokable products such as gummies, oils, and salves.
  • Anyone 21 or older may purchase smoking paraphernalia.
  • *Please note: We are prohibited by law from selling hemp flower in our Georgia store. If you are in Georgia and shopping for hemp flower, our Chattanooga store is just a 20-minute drive from our Ft. Oglethorpe location.

Although CBD is federally legal, many entities, such as insurers and financial institutions, still see CBD dispensaries as a financial risk. Because of this, credit card processing fees for online transactions of CBD and hemp products are still very high. At Grass Roots, we want to keep costs down for our customers — so we process card payments over the phone. Card numbers are processed immediately and are never stored. Additionally, we go through annual validation with our credit card vendors to ensure our staff members manage payment information with the utmost level of security, privacy, and integrity. (Please note: Purchases made through Grass Roots will appear on your credit card statement as "GRH Enterprises.")
